Seeing FC Barcelona play at the incredible Nou Camp is one thing that every football supporter will treasure for the rest of their lives. The scale of the stadium is completely overwhelming and when packed with local supporters the noise is immense. Once you know when you're visiting Barcelona you can (obviously) select the match that coincides with your stay. After that you'll have a choice of where in the stadium you sit and whether you want standard seating or VIP tickets, which also include complimentary access to the VIP lounges.

One issue with the Nou Camp is that it isn't all under cover and so only supporters in the main stand are guaranteed shelter from the rain. However, they are planning to address that and provide at least 50 percent coverage according to current redevelopment plans.

Apart from that, there are advantages and disadvantages to each area of the stadium. The seats at the top of the lateral stands are quite a distance from the pitch, but you get an overall view of the match and the atmosphere can be fantastic. Down on the bottom tier you have a restricted view as you are too close to the ground at the front and at the back of the stand you can sometimes miss the ball when it gets kicked into the air.

And seating behind the goals is good while all the action is at the end you're sitting, otherwise you can miss an awful lot - and that includes the VIP Silver seating which are right at the front of tier 2. The best seats are probably VIP Gold, which are right on the centre line, plus you have all the additional benefits of the VIP lounge.

However, the enthusiasm for FC Barcelona is unbelievable and on the whole the crowd is friendly and good natured. Football is considered family entertainment in Spain and there is little of the crowd trouble that sometimes spoils matches elsewhere.
